HTC First Review: First Facebook Phone Launched


Today in this article I am going to deliver in front of you the full review of the most awaited Smartphone from Facebook with a pre-installed Facebook Home. After so many rumors rounded up, Facebook finally had launched its first Phone 'HTC First' on 12th of this April. With the launch of this device, many highly social minded people got a perfect chance to satisfy their desire within a mid-range handset. There is a nice and impressive Facebook Home User Interface running on the device, offering an awesome Facebook experience starting from the lock screen itself. Facebook Home is currently available on Google Play Store for free for the supported Smartphones like HTC One X Plus, Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X and Galaxy Note 2. 

Let us move on to the specifications and features of HTC First:



HTC First has got an impressive 4.3-inch display with Super LCD capacitive touchscreen that is capable of delivering 16M colors. The display of HTC First also delivers an excellent HD screen resolution of 1280x720 pixels that assures you with 342ppi of pixel density. The display is large enough to support 1080p videos along with a better viewing angles. It also produces decently saturated colors, but this feature will not be enough for viewing even with full brightness under direct sunlight. Beneath the display the device also had got three touch capacitive keys for back, home and menu.

HTC First is running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with an integrated Facebook Home launcher. The device is also being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor that clocks at a speed of 1.4 GHz. To smooth performance of the device without any lag, the device also comes with a 1GB RAM. There is also Adreno 305 as GPU for graphics acceleration.

Even though Facebook had aimed this Smartphone especially for social features, they gave less priority in the field of the camera. HTC First has got a 5 MP camera along with LED flash over its rear side. The rear camera features a BSI sensor along with a 28mm lens and it is capable of full HD video recording at 1080p. There is also a 1.6 MP front-facing camera for video calling and self portrait. The front camera also has a BSI sensor and also holds an ultrawide-angle lens.

In the field of storage, HTC First has a limited storage that features onboard memory of 16 GB along with no option for memory expandability through a MicroSD card. The device holds all the common sensors, such as Accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensors and compass. Apart from these, HTC First also sports all the basic connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth v4. 0, NFC and GPS connectivity with A-GPS and GLONASS. The device will be available in front of you in four different colors; White, Red, Black and Pale Blue. After all HTC First also delivers a 2000 mAh Li-Po battery which is non-removable and features stand-by time up to 432 hours along with a talk time around 14 hours.
