Sony Xperia ZL Review: Full Specifications

Sony had launched Xperia ZL along with their latest flagship Xperia Z on March 6 2013, which was previously announced at CES 2013. Even though they failed to launch many high-end smartphones like Xperia T, Xperia V, Xperia Acro S etc, this time they had brought their flagship to the consumers over India. The device is currently available to pre-order through online retailers.

Design and Display

Xperia ZL is the first high-end smartphone from Sony which is being released in India after Sony Xperia S. Xperia ZL is similar to that of Xperia Z in almost every specs but lacks the water cum dust protection which is delivered on Xperia Z with IP57 certified. The unique design of Xperia ZL is much more interesting with a textured plastic rear case that gives more hand grip compared to the shatter proof glass coated on both back as well as the front panel of Xperia Z. Xperia ZL also has a very squared edges with more better stylish than any other Sony Xperia smart-phones like Xperia S, Xperia V or Xperia T. Sony also kept the thickness of the device to minimum of 9.8 mm, so that it doesn't feel bulky to hold in our hands. Also as the device weighs about 151g, it is perfect to carry around without any issues.
The device is also the first 5-inch smartphone from Sony that features Full HD support display delivering 1920x1080 pixels of screen resolution. Xperia ZL is being powered by an impressive quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocking at a speed of 1.5 GHz. The 2 GB of RAM included within the device helps to deliver better performance and also makes the device capable to run multiple apps without any lag. The device also offers better graphics processor which is being powered by Adreno 320 that delivers very stunning and impressive frame speed.

Sony Xperia ZL is being running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS and it can be upgraded to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as soon as it is being released. In the field of storage Xperia ZL delivers on-board storage of 16 GB which can be further expanded up to 64 GB via microSD. For the connectivity options, Sony Xperia ZL also features 4G LTE, NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, microUSB v2.0, DLNA, WiFi Hotspot, WiFi Direct and much more.

Like that of Xperia Z, Sony had also added very exciting features to the camera of Xperia ZL. Sony had also introduced the Exmor RS sensor for the rear camera featuring 13MP in Xperia ZL. This rear camera is also capable for capturing HD images and Full HD video recording up to 1080p. There is also burst shot mode, by which you can captures 10 images per second.
