Sony had launched Xperia ZL along with their latest flagship Xperia Z on March 6 2013, which was previously announced at CES 2013. Even though they failed to launch many high-end smartphones like Xperia T, Xperia V, Xperia Acro S etc, this time they had brought their flagship to the consumers over India. The device is currently available to pre-order through online retailers.
The device is also the first 5-inch smartphone from Sony that features Full HD support display delivering 1920x1080 pixels of screen resolution. There is also high pixel density of 441 ppi along with a shatter proof and a scratch-resistant TFT capacitive touchscreen. Sony had also offered the new stage of Mobile Bravia Engine 2 to Xperia ZL which gives even more quality to your images and videos along with rich and vibrant colours.
Sony Xperia ZL is being running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS and it can be upgraded to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as soon as it is being released. In the field of storage Xperia ZL delivers on-board storage of 16 GB which can be further expanded up to 64 GB via microSD. For the connectivity options, Sony Xperia ZL also features 4G LTE, NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, microUSB v2.0, DLNA, WiFi Hotspot, WiFi Direct and much more.
The superior auto mode introduced in Xperia ZL is also one among the best feature which allows you to capture images with automatically adjusted settings. The front facing 2.0MP camera of Xperia ZL also shoots Full HD videos at 1080p which makes perfect for video conferencing, self portrait and other uses.
Design and Display
Xperia ZL is the first high-end smartphone from Sony which is being released in India after Sony Xperia S. Xperia ZL is similar to that of Xperia Z in almost every specs but lacks the water cum dust protection which is delivered on Xperia Z with IP57 certified. The unique design of Xperia ZL is much more interesting with a textured plastic rear case that gives more hand grip compared to the shatter proof glass coated on both back as well as the front panel of Xperia Z. Xperia ZL also has a very squared edges with more better stylish than any other Sony Xperia smart-phones like Xperia S, Xperia V or Xperia T. Sony also kept the thickness of the device to minimum of 9.8 mm, so that it doesn't feel bulky to hold in our hands. Apart from these Sony also had added HDR mode in both capturing images as well as recoring videos. There are also various other common camera modes like sweep panorama mode, filter effects etc.
